On Sunday I had a 14 miler on my schedule since my Half is in 18 days{insert mild panic}. I got up early, got dressed, ate{a small} breakfast and headed out. I brought along some Gatorade chews to try because my last long run was a beast and I was desperate for fuel by mile 6. The run started out great. I felt better for the first 7 miles than I have in a week. It was so nice to stretch my legs at a nice easy pace. I ran from my house, across the Missouri River bridge, and down to the Katy Trail. Everything was going so nicely, until I had to run back up the swirly ramp of death to get back up to the bridge. I don't know what I did, but by the time I reached the bridge, my hip was killing me. I managed to make it another mile, but I had to call it at mile 10.5. I limped the rest of the way home.

When I finally gimped myself home and managed a shower, Matt and Papa Toby took Mason out on the boat to go fishing. He had a BLAST! They were out there for 3 hours and didn't catch a thing, but Mason is already begging me to go "catch some hungry fish" again soon.
It was nice to spend time with just Eleanor. It kind of gave me a preview of our girl time we will have when Mason starts preschool in August.

When the boys got home, we went out to my Parents house to give the kids their naps because Matt and I had Praise Team practice at 3.
Sunday was our Senior night at Church and since we are on the Family Life Committee and now on the Praise Team, we had double duty to pull with singing/playing and helping clean up after. We sang Oceans(Where Feet May Fail) and that is probably my very favorite Worship song of all time. Matt and I also learned how to operate the dishwasher at the Church, so I have a feeling we will be needed at more events.

Yesterday we went to the park with Grandma Lucy and met Sheri and Lydia there for a picnic. We had a lot of fun! Lydia and Mason are such cute friends.
When we got home, I laid the Littles down for a nap, grabbed a monitor and mowed the lawn. Our yard was looking super jungle-y, so I did my best. We have a really big slope at the end of our front yard and I have been slacking on my upper body workouts, so there is a big strip that I missed because I just could not push the mower up the hill. Sorry Jeff Citians. My yard has a soul patch.

Mason is officially a big boy.

When did this happen?!!

And finally, drumroll please..............
I finally am back with a new recipe!! I did not want a heavy meal after being outside all day, so I made a fantastic veggie pasta salad.
Veggie Tortellini Pasta Salad:
serves 6 - 225 calories per serving

1 pkg tricolor cheese tortellini{about 2.5 cups} cooked as directed
6 slices hard salami
1 cucumber, diced
1 red, 1 yellow pepper, diced
1 celery stalk, diced
6 black olives, chopped
about 15 pepperocini, chopped
1/2 cup shredded mozzerella
1 TBSP olive oil
1 lemon zested and juiced
salt and pepper to taste

Toss all of the ingredients together, except cheese, and chill for an hour.
When ready to eat, toss in cheese and serve.
This makes about 6, 1 cup servings. We ate it with apple slices and peanut butter.

Did anybody else long run this weekend?
Does anyone else have mild panic attacks at how fast time goes sometimes?

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!!
All My Love,
Meg
